A Donegal teacher is claiming that she’s “bloody knackered”, after returning to work this week following the school’s three month holiday.

Meadhbh Matamaitic, a national school teacher in Letterkenny, made the shocking revelation to a work colleague just before big lunch today, who was also showing signs of fatigue after the summer break.

“Can’t wait to get me feet up, I’m bloody knackered” Ms Matamaitic announced to the staff room earlier. “There’s a glass of vino waiting for me tonight, I tell yis,” she added, to a chorus of yawns from her fellow knackered teaching colleagues.

Ms Matamaitic, who teaches 2nd class, told Donegal Dollop; ” The Summer break really flew in, hiy. I was only back from Santa Ponza in July, when I realised the holidays where almost up, so I booked a fortnight in Alicante. Next thing you know, a month later, I’m back in work!”

The 27 year old teacher of 19 children concluded: “Can’t buckin’ wait for the Halloween break next month, roll on Christmas!”
