In the lead up to the marriage referendum on May 22nd, an 86-year-old Donegal bachelor has spoken out about his concerns regarding same sex marriage.

The octogenarian, who lives alone up a mountain in the wilds of the county, told Donegal Dollop he believes that marriage is a sacred bond which should only be made between a man and a woman, even though he has only ever been in contact with three people in the past 66 years.

Jimmy Na Cnoic who lives in a small shack without electricity or running water, believes that if the people of Ireland vote Yes in the upcoming referendum, it will lead to the downfall of civilisation as we know it.

Speaking from his spartan kitchen, which he shares with a goat and three geese, he urged the people of Donegal to vote No and prevent people he has no connection with changing the constitution, which would surely result in Mad Max-style apocalyptic mayhem, a reference he himself didn’t know he was capable of making.
