Gardai in Donegal were left red-faced today after a botched raid on a suspected ‘Weed Factory’ in Gweedore, following a misspelled text message sent to one of their sergeants.
Several Gardaí swooped on the factory around 5 am this morning, breaking windows and kicking in doors. The factory was completely empty at the time, however, a small ceiling light had been left on in one of the offices.
The mix-up came as a couple of Gardaí were having a meeting and gathering intel in Sean Ógs Pub two nights ago. During the meeting one Garda received a text stating: “derz lites on n d Ndustrial S tate @ d weed factory lad”
The Gardaí promptly followed all the necessary protocol and the raid was organised. The Gardai released a statement today; “Aye, there was a raid this morning, but it was all a buckin’ mix-up, rest assured there will be a lengthy investigation into the whole thing. No expenses spared.”
Gweedore Garda station had a notice stuck to the station door today which read; “Anyone wishing to make a complaint or report anything to the Gardaí please come back during our listed opening hours.”
