Just as the people of Donegal were getting used to their new-found fame after last night’s appearance of Letterkeny on RTÉ’s Republic of Telly, it has emerged that the glitzy world of showbiz has graced this forgotten county not just once, but twice in the one week.

The Lord of The Rings’ very own Steve Dorfstien dropped by Donegal much to the amazement of onlookers. Steve played one of the dreaded Orcs in the hit trilogy, pictured here 123rd from the left, 9th row from the front.

“I couldn’t believe it was him,” said our source, a staff member of a Newtown Cunningham Petrol station. “He just seemed like a normal guy,” said the astonished petrol pump attendant, “he asked for directions to Derry and buggered off again.”

It is not quite clear why Mr. Dorfstien was in the North West, but we at Donegal Dollop widely speculate it is to shoot Lord of The Rings 4: Let Battle Recommence, which we are guessing will be released early in the Fall.
